Hi
I've just been perusing a non-boaty site which alerted me to two apps (Zapptax and Skiptax) for routes to reclaiming VAT on EU purchases (less a spot of commission). The easiest route seems to be via automated terminals at the point of departure from the EU. Relatively easy when travelling via air, tunnel or ferry but has anyone seen such a terminal at yacht checkout ports ? The slightly more laborious option seems to be having the paperwork physically stamped and then the purchaser scans it and sends it on to the app company. Either way the app gets the tax back and sends you a cheque.
Has anyone had experience when departing the EU via yacht/mobo?
