Van \"The Man\" Morrisson

Further down, JVII are looking for a name for their boat and I agree with Byron that they should give it a sensible name.

Struck me while I was thinking of names that there are a number of coincidences at our little harbour, which is Portmadoc, North Wales. We must have a strong caucus of Van Morrisson lovers.

My boat:- Coney Island
Friends boat:- Precious Time
A Catamaran:- Brown Eyed Girl
A Yacht:- Moondance

There is even a Rod Stewert "Maggie May"

No real point I'm making here, just thought I'd let you know :)

Re: Van \"The Man\" Morrisson

A friend of mine at work had a call from his Dad one day ...

"Happy birthday Dad. What have you been up to?"

"Just got back from lunch with an old friend - I used to play keyboards in his band"

"Oh - What did he play?"

"He was the singer. Yes, he was pretty good. I think he had some success after the band split up. Haven't seen him for a while though until today."

"What's his name?"

"Van Morrison".

Nice birthday present. Not much point to this either really - just a surreal kind of link :) "Comfortably Numb" is moored in Bristol Docks (Pink Floyd)

Duh! Who is Van Morrison? I know what a Van is, I know what a Morris is, so who is this son of Morris and his Van?

Thats a thought. In our club we have "Gloria" and "Moondance".
Byron should have a clue by now

Have I told you lately that I love You? (not you of course)
Bright side of the road?
Marvellous night for a moondance?
Ok I give up

Ah! Got it! Its some dude called Gloria who dances naked under the full moon having travelled to where he is going in a Morris Van.

Went to see the person in question at Warwick castle lst summer - what a let-down. He rattled through a few songs at double speed, didn't speak to the audience, and then disappeared without an encore. Apparantly the next night at Chester he was brilliant. a flawed genius?
