Looking to berth my motorboat at Valencia marina annually,, question is... The north marina is more epensive than the south marina so there must be an advantage, but what are the main advantages please? Thanks

The north marina Nearer the shops and restaurants.
There is a very modern part of Valencia between the two marinas.
A few years ago, they redirected the river and built that new area at the end of the old river bed.
A nice day out is to walk/bike up the old river bed (now gardens) to the Old Town

Valencia is nice - much nicer than Barcelona but is still a big town.
But I wonder if you might get bored there after doing everything in and around the marina.
Boating wise, Valencia is in quite a commercial location.
The marinas north are a bit bleak until you reach Las Fuentes.
As far as I know there is nothing south until you reach Denia.

Not many places to anchor and, as I have said before - nothing like the lagoon at Sant Carles.
About 125 miles to Mallorca but 80 miles to Ibiza

As I say, a bit commercial.
I wouldn't keep my boat there but we do like to visit occasionally.

Here is a 20 second long video clip of entering Valencia - you can see what I mean by "commercial" at the end of the clip.
We were entering from the Denia direction

While we are talking about Valencia.
I wonder how many people on this forum remember this:-
2012 - pre 4K and image stabilisation, I'm afraid.

For the OP's information note the canal in the north marina.
The actual marina is the seaward side of the swing bridge - not those moorings inside the port.

We are planning to move our boat from burriana to Valencia marina in March. We visited twice and like that its near the shops, restaurants etc. We love Denia but the annual berth cost difference between the 2 is huge and really the home berth is merely the starting point each time we visit. We will ideally be in the North marina...
