Hello.
Botnia Targa 27, dual helm kad44edc

The steering in wheelhouse is what I would call vague...but maybe that's because I'm used to a tiller! And the 2nd station up top barely works...I mean it does fully turn leg from side to side but needs loads of input and isnt useable....

I assume these have power steering too..which isn't connected to steering system as such... how are these generally setup and what do I look for? I'm assuming it has hydraulic fluid that's low somewhere and/or it needs bleeding?

Any pointers before I go down there and take a look.

Thanks

Check if the helm pump reservoir is full on the lower helm and the upper should have about a 1/2 inch air gap. If they are low they need topping up and the wheel spun lock to lock to get the air out. Also check for leaks down in the engine room around the hoses and steering cylinder. And check the power steering reservoir has oil.

Is it a Hynautic steering system and if so do you have one of these and what is the pressure gauge reading?
