Much as I love our two black labradors, their constant shedding of hair on a white boat is going to drive me to distraction!

Can anyone recommend a powerful portable vac (12v or battery) which will deal with the problem?

There seem to be plenty online, however I'd rather have a personal recommendation......

Cheers

Dyson animal hand held with motorised brush!

Loads of £££ but works well, does a 30 foot boat beds seats and carpets in 10 minutes then recharges via your inverter.

Make sue you get the purple one with motorised brush...

I know what you mean, we have 2 Golden Retrievers so have the same problem.

We have recently purchased a Dyson DC31 Animal. It's a small handheld vacuum with a rechargeable battery, but the suction is absolutely amazing, and it has a brush bar attachment as well which is VERY good at getting dog hair off carpet and upholstery. I have a small inverter that I plug into the cigarette lighter outlet which I use to charge it up.

This is a seriously good bit of kit, not cheap, but takes up very little space and works amazingly well.

Thanks for the feedback, chaps.....much appreciated.

I'd rather be Mrs Mop and keep tidying up rather than go out without 'The Boys'..

Cheers

OI! THATS WHAT I SAID!! :D

It's almost worth the heinous price though isn't it? :o

.......must admit I was 'somewhat suprised' by the price (the words I used were unprintable:D). I'm sure it does a wonderful job but won't pay that to get rid of dog hairs....unless I have to!!

Hmmm.....a dilemma: are there more suggestions?

To be honest I never found anything able to remove labx hair. They did live in the yard (with an off concrete floor, brick built, marine ply roof kennell) when I was out of the house. Neither was too bothered about getting wet. Damp dog hair is a precourser to Araldite

....thats the FUNNIEST one liner I've seen for a while. CONGRATULATIONS!.....

Reminds me of: Isnt it strange how when you stand up and scream on a bus: people just look at you. When you do it on a plane everyone else screams too :D

We have a Pug. The thing is cordoned off in the back of the Estate car, but still hairs get everywhere, stiff little things that knit in.

The Dyson cleans 'em all up faster than anything else, including the larger Dyson.

A Henry doesn't get a look in frankly, and the filtration is more industrial than domestic. Good machines, but dirty as hell!

Ebay has a new one for £150 ONO plus a tenner for P+P. remember they have brushless motors, so should be reliable if kept clean and charged sensibly.

Would be hard to beat a Dyson any power range or size.

There is lint rollers.

You could even make a sticky paper coat for the dog out of them.
Sticky side in removes the hairs from the dog...sticky side out for cabin interiors...

hmmm....thats not such a bad idea. I was also considering shaving them once a month, however a sticky lint roller coat maybe be less contentious:-)

We have two black and white cats on our boat and we always have the sticky rollers on board. Their hair seems to get everywhere and these are great!

If you can get to Costco you can buy them in packs of 4 very cheaply.
