v small rod, where to buy ?

the handle in my water tank lid is held on with two miniature rods put through some channels.

rods are 5mm x 2mm or similar.
i can measure them with my micrometer, but where do i buy some of those ?

Do you mean 2mm dia x 5mm long? If so, a good quality stainless bicycle spoke cut up would work.

Search Google for '5 x 2 stainless dowel pin.' Boneham sell them, 4p each.

Use a bit of gas welding/brazing rod.

I use various diameter braising rods.
Another good source for flat stainless rods are the reenforcement strips in car wiper blades.
