\"V\" BELT PROBLEM, WHERE CAN I FIND ONE!

The referance on my existing "V belt" is shown as QBA 1075 supplied by Quinton Hazell.
The 1075 I assume is the length, problem is it is not as tight as I would like it on the alternator tentioning.
To solve the problem I thought of a new belt with a length of say 1070 or 1065.
I have been to six suppliers but no luck, nearest offered was 1063 which I feel will not go over the pulleys.
Any ideas where to go for such a belt size, I was told to try "Fenner" on the Team Valley Estate (Tyne and Wear) but can not find there web address to ask first.
Hope someone can offer some advice on a possible supplier I can contact as I assume I am not the first with this problem.
I might even splash out and buy two! (one as a spare).

Always take mine to my local auto supplies shop, never fail to get the right one, there is a manufacturer, cant remember the name but others probably will, which has a very good reputation.
Was tempted once to go for an adjustable type but folowing advice from on here am glad i didnt.

I always keep 2 spares.

Good luck

I replaced the Mitisbushu on my Yanmar with a Gates and it has lasted and lasted.....................lower wear, lower stretch and amazingly to me it's 'soft' against the hard standard one.

i had the same problem .the motor factors suggested i took a few sizes and try them out . they took the unused ones back no problem.

Re: \"V\" BELT PROBLEM, WHERE CAN I FIND ONE!

I can recommend detatchable V belts which can be made up to exactly the right size for the application.
I always had problems with the water pump belt on a T90 as I couldn't get the tension needed without the pulley fouling the engine box. By playing around with the links on a detatchable I could bring the pulley inboard and get exactly the right tension.
A big plus is that with some spare links I can do emergency repairs without having to carry spare belts. I have now replaced the alternator belt as well.
Available from Asap Supplies (and I am sure other places). Buy in multiples of 25cm lengths.
