Using your Boat as A caravan

For those that trail their 24 ft sports cruisers (or similar) long distances for holidays etc, and assuming you have to overnight on the road journey. I was wondering if you stay in the boat over night parked up somewhere. Not sure how easy it is to find places to park and stay but it would seem to make sense. No different to a caravan in my view but I am sure some sites would find it odd

Re the dress, yes it was and if I was 10st lighter I would ask to borrow it. Unfortunately, I don't have sufficient hair for the tiara. Guess I could get a wig.

A caravanning holiday with some free boating thrown in!

Obviously nowhere near as comfy as a caravan (but they float better LOL) but possibly tow better, and without the social stigma...

Nearest I got was an inflatable, outboard and hand trailer in the garage of a Motorhome (also garaged with the 100cc Scooter with Dog-topbox) which worked perfectly, albeit not out at sea...
 
We towed to lake mggior in Italy slept in a car park by lake comp on the way was awaken at 8 am by a Saturday market set up all around us we got a cheers when we got off and had to wait till they packed up to leave .but all ads to the adventure .I miss trail boating
 
Didn’t McGregor call themselves a yacht, a speedboat, a caravan. Obviously you’re better off with a chemical toilet

I think you are right, that would be the MacGregor 26. However the MacGregor 65 and 70 were a different kind of animal, super fast saily boats for their size, I have quite a soft spot for them.

If the boat is wired for shore power, or not, book a site at a caravan park so you can use the facilities, it's commonly done in this country
 
Access on and off a trailered boat can sometimes be awkward for the other half. Overcome that and then the question becomes why wouldnt you?

Boarding ladder makes it easy.
As for the why wouldn't you bit...someone will post soon that you will be gassed and robbed in your sleep but we choose our location sensibly and have never felt threatened or been aware of any such goings on around us.
 
Your OH is obviously more nimble than mine. I remember the trailer being a bit awkward. Even now with a bigger boat access when on the hard via the boarding ladder is not so easy. I use a step ladder that takes me to the top rung of the boarding ladder. High enough to hold the grab rail. OH can't manage that with ease either being quite small at 5 foot.
