This is the first time I have really tried following forum postings by phone instead of computer. It does seem very clunky. The phone or server fails to recognise posts that have been read, nor can one jump from a thread back to the list of threads, instead the only option offered appears to be to read either the previous or following thread.
Any thoughts please?
I am happily hunkered down 'between weather systems' in Devon and could of course crank up the engine/ inverter or generator and use my ol desktop and dongle but that seems rather a step back in this day of 'smart phone's and, possibly, one less-than-smart user.
Thx in advance

It's even more clunky than boulder soup. Knock it on the head. It's easier to use the full version on a smartphone than to use the expurgated version.

Ta, see? Ask and ye shall be served with knowledge.
Boulder soup? Reckon semaphore would be quicker for communicating.

We've been told that there should be a change - imminently ...

However - if you're on an iPhone then you can download (free) iLunascape - then go into the settings and change the user agent to Safari - iPad - this will give you full fat forum view

I read Forums on Android and my wish list for the mobile site is ....

One Button Navigation to the last page of a thread.
One button Navigation back out of a thread to the list.
A quote option
The YBW Forums link at the top of the page.
The ability to edit a post
The ability to easily embed a picture.

:mad:Pet Hates are ....

Had to bookmark each forum individually to provide quick navigation to the forum start pages.
Hate having to page through long threads to get to the most recent entries - displaying the posts in reverse order (most recent first) as on some other forums would help.
It's annoying having to cut/paste and manually quote other posts.
Mobile keyboards and predictive text entry always autocorrects using the wrong words - so being able to edit is a must.

Mobile forums

Hi everyone

So you may have noticed that I have turned off the mobile forums application. You should now be able to see the full version on your smart phones.

After reading feedback and learning of the problems and reduced functionality we decided this is the best course of action in the short term.

We are still aiming to develop a mobile version of the forums in the not too distant future and I’ll refer back to this thread as a guide to what our members want from such an application.

I’d like to thank you all for your patience in this matter and I’ll keep you posted with new developments as they arise.

While you're there, can I repeat my appeal for additional "next/previous" buttons to be placed at the top of a page.

On windows browsers there is a home knitted work around, but it doesnt work on apple browsers.

I have recently taken the plunge to an anderoid phone (Motorola Defy) and just access YBW forums on the internet. I find it more than adequate. The package I have chosen gives me unlimited internet.

The mobile phone app seems to still be available, but you have to select it from the drop down box at the bottom of the page. I'm still using it as I prefer it.
