I have Navionics on my iPhone. However, I prefer the convenience of creating routes on a much larger screen. To that end, I installed the Bluestacks 5 Android emulator on my Windows 10 PC; then I downloaded/installed the Navionics app from the Google Play Store. I also installed the Navionics ChartViewer webapp for Windows. The problem I run into is that each of the Navionics apps that I run in Windows (the Bluestacks/Navionics app and the Navionics ChartViewer) has a subset (actually, a different subset) of the features to be had in the iPhone version of Navionics. Some examples:

On the iPhone: the Details icon provides access to settings for Water Level, Shallow Area, Depth Shading, Fishing Ranges, etc. In the Bluestacks/Navionics app, running in Windows, Details only allows me to select Chart Layers, Overlays, and Orientation. That's it. ChartViewer has no Details icon at all. Menu>Map Options allows a choice of overlays and Safety Depth. Nothing more. Also, in the iPhone app, I can go to Menu>Settings>Units to specify whatever units of measurement I want. I can’t find any Settings option in the Bluestacks/Navionics app. Depth contours are in meters, and I can find no way to change that to feet. Interesting that routes synch between the iPhone and the Bluestacks/Navionics app; however, the contours represented in feet on the iPhone are represented in meters on the Bluestacks/Navionics app. Etc., etc...

Has anyone had experience with either the ChartViewer or the Bluestacks/Navionics version such that the app actually does operate in Windows as it does on an iPhone? Are these problems indicative of my lack of familiarity with the software, or are these constraints immutable?

I've just been Googling, as I want to run Navionics Boating on my rugged computer, but with a much bigger screen. Have you done this? Navionics on a laptop is hideously expensive; it's only affordable on a smartphone or tablet that runs Android or iOS. I've never owned Apple products, so it's Android and Microsoft for me.

Get a tablet ..... loads of Android Tablets out there for budget money .... I use an 8" Headwolf - slips into pocket - large enough to see all .... has all the same as the phone incl twin 4G sim / SD card / GPS / WiFi / BT .... gets AIS info from my NMEA2WiFi unit on board .....

Far better than using a PC .....
