Using ipad to read forum

I have somehow set a preference here so that the forum displays in a simple fashion.
I do use an ipad but have lost the functionality (including the help section!) of the normal mode.
Please could someone guide me how to return to the normal viewing mode from the ipad mode.

Try logging out of the forum and then logging back in to see if it clears. Worked for me.

What does that do? Makes no difference on my iPad.

It flips into normal mode, whereas the following flips into mobile mode.

My Nexus tablet often loads the mobile version of sites. I think the site asks the device what it is and then decides for me what is in my best interests. As I'm accessing these sites by wifi, I always want the desktop version of the site. My web browser (Firefox) has a dropdown menu choice to 'request desktop version of this site', which does what it says.

ybw.com always tries loading up the mobile version on my Nexus, so I always request the desktop version. For me it seems to have nothing to do with my login and site preferences here as I always get the desktop version on my PC at home. I think the site senses the type of device and tries to decide for us.
