Using Adhesives to fit deck organisers

[ QUOTE ]
if they hold the hull and decks together for sunseeker im pretty sure they will hold

The effectiveness of any adhesive increases with the surface area of the bond. A hull to deck joint has a much greater surface area than a clutch - especially if the hull to deck joint was designed with adhesives in mind and thus has mating flanges.

The other surface area problem is that a large backing plate spreads the load on the GRP over a larger area than the fitting. How do you do that with a glued on fitting? The danger is that when a big shock load is applied, if the adhesive does works really well, then the GRP will fail and you will end up with a hole in the deck.

I agree with Gardenshed. Use bolts backed up over a goodly area.
