Using 8mm Dyneema Sk75 4x4 winch rope and halyard ideas

Another question for the collective YBW forums ...

4x4 Winch rope - It seems you can get 30m of 8mm Sk75 Dyneema for allot less than Marine suppliers.

Anyone tried this?

Any gotchas?

discovered that with some thinner stuff I had used on my son's tera.

Is it naturally white or grey (aka Carbon)?

I am not 100% sure of the natural color, but think the heat set stuff is naturally grey and the unheat set is white. But both the grey and white seem decently color fast. I would just stay away from stuff like yellow and blue if color rub off is a concern.

I was up in Greenland this summer, but just got back "home", so no, unfortunately not exotic at the moment (Chesapeake bay).

Q: How would I know it is head set? SK75/SK78?

The product marketing literature will mention it.

Dux is heat set. New England ropes STS is heat set. Gleistein has a heat set (HS).
