Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah.......never a truer word said.
You wouldn't believe that man has been to the moon and back...............yet we still can't design a zip that doesn't jam without hours of preventative maintenance.![]()
I suspect we can
YKK are one of the most experienced quality zip makers in the world
However, manufacturers such as Musto do not always use YKK but some rubbish from elsewhere.
But as well as using a decent company the manufacturer has to specify the correct zip. Whilst fine mesh metal zips look good on some garments meant more for dockside looks than offshore use they do not fare well in a salt water environment.
Coupled with manufacture with less accuracy than the best zips one ends up with failure.
The materials are out there for manufacturers to use but as long as they buy rubbish the end product will suffer
