So I was taking my PB level two at the weekend so thought I would look the part and get myself a sexy red MUSTO baseball cap! Yunno the one with a little crocodile clip to stop it falling in the drink if it blows off.

(Note.. The only one blowing off was the instructor!!)

So any way coming back up the Straits (Yep another blatant Seawake Ad!) throttle to the stops, 300 hp giving it close on 50 knots, into a 25mph wind and my sexy new hat blows off!!

"No problem" says I as the patented crocodile clip will stop it from going too far.

"CAP OVERBOARD!" shouts Kwacker and we do the MOB drill a bit sooner than expected!!

Spose I shouldn't grumble! Useless hat for Mobo's. Alright on a raggie but no good for a balls out RIB!!

Great couple of days out with the bo(u)ys from PD. Thanks to all.

Now............ boat delivery anyone?

Totally agree - baseball cap style hats are useless aboard mobos - unless you can staple them to your head to keep them on. We've lost quite a few over the years as the wind gets underneath the visor to drag them off and they don't have enough grip on your head to stay on.

Now wear a beanie over a baseball cap if out in the winter, or try to go hatless in the summer.

Dear Binman,

Just ask Kwaker "Where's the Fox hat?"

He was showing off in an overpowered Bowrider while wearing a dead fox on his head. Shades of Davy Crocket for those with long memories. Anyway it blew off as we were wake hopping our own wake & we really struggled to recover it - we were laughing so much, we couldn't see for the tears.

It was eventually recovered, looking very sorry for itself & decidedly bedraggled. Despite our insisting it would be perfectly OK, Rich no longer wanted the cold wet dribbly thing on his head, so it was dropped in the stern somewhere & off we went for another blast in the dying light. When we returned to base so I could change my trousers, it had gone missing, we were convinced it had jumped overboard rather than go back on Kwacker's head.

Great evening, great entertainment, sorry about Reynard tho, it was certainly a fine hat before it learned to swim.

Yep, thats Kwacker! A legend in his own lunchtime!!

Been taking us through our paces over a very blowy weekend! He now sports a very snazzy line in orange tinted safety specs!! He got them from his favourite marine chandlers (LIDL!) Kept pointing us at the "orange" bouys till he realised what was happening!!
