Use of Osculati gelcoat

I am fixing a few flaws in the skin of my boat. I am going to use Osculati gelcoat paste. Does this harden to sandable standard on it's own or do you need a measure of Styrene wax to achieve this.?

Hardens on it's own.

I used this stuff and it turned a shade of yellow quite quickly

I'm confused
You need to add catalyst, not wax, to make it harden. It won't harden on its own. Wax has nothing to do with hardening but can serve a useful purpose in making the surface harden rather than remain tacky - if you care about that.
