Lusty is manipulating the truth to suit his agenda. Lithium battery fire, post 43. I was blocked from my Lithium Fire thread because I used AI in one of my posts. I had read the warning on use of AI but felt it was easier to quote and was too lazy to summarise. Why Lusty has an agenda is his problem - but its not unusual for a thread to be started and supported for some non-marine application. I think Sea Change had one recently on rusty trailer mudguards.

The Admin are serious - don't use AI or we will restrict you in some way (this was not clear in their dislike of AI).

Geem has clearly defined that LEP batteries are 'generally' safe and/or safer than lead - but the lithium batteries burnt in the truck fire and closed a major highway from Sydney to Melbourne - it was serious incident and the batteries did burn. They may nor be LEP batteries - but if they are it contradicts the idea that LEP batteries do not burn. Hopefully when the investigation into the fire is published we will find out - but repressing the news because it might not be relevant to marine application seems daft, autocratic. Lusty says his vendetta is to keep threads entirely 'marine' - I wonder if he has another agenda for minimising the dangers of batteries.

It maybe the brakes were the cause of the fire - but as I said - the batteries burnt. The fire was not caused, directly, by the rest of the load - as water melons do not burn. But the water melons seem to have been loose loaded and could have fallen on to the batteries, causing damage, or shorting. It may also be that the batteries were not lithium at al - there is a certain frenzy about battery fires leading to inaccuracy.l

But to emphasise - as Lusty knew well - I was not banned from 'my' Lithium truck fire thread because the Admin thought it was 'off topic' but because I used copy and paste of an AI generated script.

I suspect I am not alone in enjoying the wrath of Admin - just be warned.
