I am a sailor and a dolphin lover. The Whale & Dolphin Conservation Society has got a fab new screensaver (download free from: www.wdcs.org.uk) so you can report your sightings of whales, dolphins and porpoises all over the world. Sounds like a great idea and will do so. Doesnt half remind me of a bumper sticker I saw some while back though something along the lines of

SAVE THE WHALES ...... HARPOON A FAT CHICK INSTEAD

Save the wasp!

I have nothing against saving dolphins, but their smiley faces make the job easier, don't they? Unfortunately I suspect that real conservation effort starts at the bottom of the food chain, with insects. Not too many campaigns to save them, are there?

Was up in Norway a few years back at a post race party -mostly Noggies but a few Brits and other nationalities when a Swedish friend of mine walked in and opened his shirt to reveal a T shirt with the logo ' save the whale, harpoon a Norwegian' !
