USA Visitor Boating The Thames

We made it to Marlow and are staying the night at the park beyond the strange suspension bridge. Strange in our view because we still can't figure out the protocol for determing which car has priority crossing the bridge.

The car ON the bridge has priority, doesn't matter which way he is going - simples.

Hello Guys

I have been following your adventure on here and glad you are having such a good trip.

You are not far from where I am moored at Temple Marina. As you head up towards Temple Lock and see the weir on the left you will see boats moored behind the weir. I should be up there around 10.30 today, what time are you likely to pass through the lock and I will pop down and say hello

Nick

There are some boating traditions which should be observed, especially in relation to eating swans for the first time.

If you get a chance, take one of the bus tours from Windsor. When boarding, courtesy requires that you shake hands with all the passengers.

I think you mean 'Seemples' :D

Nope, Mike is quite right.......

You might see some friends of ours at Henley - boat is a Broom 34 called 'Meerkat'.

If you do say hi to Stuart and Elaine from Tony and Mags !

We saw them at Windsor, Cookham and some other locations but unfortunately did not read your post in advance. We were admiring their boat and if we see them again we will certainly say hello.

We are moored just downriver from the Swan at Pangbourne in the Meadows and had a very enjoyable night at the Swan last evening. What a wonderful pub...forumites recommendation on this pub was spot-on. Thanks.

Trip continues to far exceed our expectations...we need an extra two weeks.

Regards,

Three ladies in a boat, not to mention Dave

Dave and family passed by Ashmount at about 2:15pm today. I did offer him a berth for the night but he hope to make Dorchester tonight thus allowing him a short trip back down to Benson to return the boat tomorrow.

LeBoat

I just saw Le boat approaching Sunbury Lock, just before The Weir pub.... I did call over but the people looked at me like I was a nutter - Guess it wasn't Dave! One of the girls may not have heard right and just looked very confused...if it was you , I was in Aquaholic and was just in the process of mooring up with my family. Hope you had a good trip
