URGENT! VOLVO PENTA SPARES REQ!

Hi all.

I have a friend who is stranded in Saville several Km up the river! Unfortunately his head gasket of his VOLVO PENTA MBIOA needs re placing proir to returning to the UK. Local soarces and normal UK enquiries have drawn a blank .Apparently head gaskets are no longer available for this engine.I hope I have the type correct as I do not reconise it!
Has any one got a spare gathering dust on a shelf or do you know of a supplier? help required urgently as another friend is flying out to him early next week.

Try VOLSPEC, they have quiet a bit of old parts in stock. Not cheap tho. They can send stuff out by DHL or UPS. They got stuff to me in Ireland. Make sure you have the right model number and year of manufacture, also the serial number if poss.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Has you friend thought of trying liquid silicone gasket ? It might last long enough for him to get home. I know of someone who made a makeshift gasket out of some thick paper, a nautical chart, I believe, which lasted for some time.
