I have a bit of an emergency situation here. I used to be a seasonal berth holder in one of the marinas, close to Portsmouth. My membership run until April as I had my initial plans to head for Med in the beginning of May. Due to COVID lockdown, I remained on hard right until the last week paying decent rate, now I am back in the water hoping to start my Med journey in about 1,5 months. Yesterday, my marina downgraded me to a visitor and asked me to pay £900+ for an additional 1,5 months' of stay. This has come as a shock as I was not expecting so much. Anyone can suggest a cost-effective alternative around Portsmouth/Brighton? I have 10m sailing boat with a lifting keel ( draft of 0.9m)

thanks a lot
Alex

I'm in the same situation. Had expected to be in, or on my way to, Scotland now but stuck in Gosport on expensive and inflexible monthly rates.
Premier usually have some good value visitor deals however because they are prioritising visits by annual berth holders and severely limiting the number of other visitors, these have been withdrawn.

It's worth asking Hamble HM if there is a short-term slot. They usually say min 3 months, but you may get lucky.

Try all the usual providers of swinging moorings, Gosport Boatyard, Wicor, Quay Lane.
Try Lauren Marine in Southampton? There must be other places up the rivers.
Hayling Island?

You could try talking to Scott at Wicor he has various moorings

My recollection of Wicor was friendly yard where always afloat on pontoon but sometimes mud between you and boat so just be aware you can end up stuck aboard as the tide rips out and that if you are making multiple trips with crew and kit don’t leave the crew with car keys on board.
