Looking for a new or reworked and fully functional turbocharger ( part number 129671-18001) for a Yanmar 4JH4HTE (110hp) engine. Any ideas where I can get a reworked unit or a new one at discount price?

many thanks for your help

Get the current one refurbed? Or is it not repairable?

Coincidentally I today spoke with Bartos at Turboworks at Eastbourne regarding the turbo on my 4JH4-HTE.
I am carrying out a major service - 1000 hours - and examining the turbo is part of this. After discussing the oil residue on the inlet blades Bartos and I came to the conclusion mine is OK. There is oil residue on the inlet blades because the rocker box breather pipe feeds into the air filter.
My shaft turns freely and there is no end float or perceptable play.
Turboworks can fix your problem I am sure and are familiar with Yanmar marine units.
Bartos told me a common cause of trouble is the exhaust elbow failing and allowing salt water into the exhaust side causing shaft and seal corrosion.
My exhaust elbow is coming off next trip to the boat.......................
Turboworks have a technical advice line and their number is 01323 301999.

I hope this helps.

Many thanks for these. The boat is in Barcelona and up for sale, hence urgency as the market is hotting up. Rotrax - thanks for this. Did not check the exhaust elbow but will get them to take a look. I did get some coking up about 4 years ago but this was cleaned up and OK until now. Exacerbated by running at low speeds on a 800 mile trip late last year so turbo never got to run at high temperature. Repair is an alternative to buy but not if the repair takes weeks
