URGENT info req\'d

Anyone know roughly, given I set out tomorrow, in a 6o footer, how long it will take to sail guernsey to scotland (where in scotland, east or west - i do not know)

um say 500 miles to somewhere scottish, 7 knots, makes 70ish hours, callit three days, probably four cos there's not much wind. Er you'd have to know where scotland was and your post indicates you may not be very sure :-)

I disagree. He didn't say he might be going to South Scotland - which implies he knows where England ends.

About four days tallies.
I'm quite sure where Scotland is, but as I'll ONLY be delivery crew/ official company photographer, the powers that be haven't deemed it necessary to tell me which bit of Scotland we might be going to yet.

Yup, TCMs thoughts are close to my guess which was 4 to 5 days (I thought it would a bit more than 500NM) but I was thinking to the Clyde or Forth or somewhere around there, if you are talking Shetland then you're not going to be there for Sunday lunch!

Also depends a lot on the strength and experience of the crew, are you OK to plug on for say four days without a stop and do you have a good engine and plenty of diesel to keep the average speed up if the winds go light?

Personally I'd far rather spend a couple of weeks over it and take in a few stops on the way.

Are you due back at work on Monday!!! ;-)

Watch the navigator like a hawk.

This is the oldest trick in the book.

Don't state destination then navigational cock-ups are impossible

I'd go equiped for at least a week and take tropical gear.
