Urgent help required with Raymarine instruments

Hi all

Looks like my SPX30 course computer is fried.

My instruments are ST60+ connected by Seatalk 1.

I am trying to get the depth sounder working independently, as the power was from the course computer.

I have got to the point where I have 12v going to a seatalk connector at the instruments, but all the depth wants to do is beep. Nothing on the screen.

What do I need to do in order to get the depth sounder working on its own?

All you need is +VE to the red ST wire and -VE to the bare wire. Easy temp solution would be to disconnect the ST cable and power wire at the SPX, and join them together.

That's what I did. I'm getting 13.2v at the instrument end of the seatalk cable, but all I'm getting from the head unit is a quiet beeping.

If the display is now stand alone, all it needs is power and the transducer connected. Does the transducer connect directly to the display ? Was there a 2nd ST connection at the SPX, if so, where does it go ?

I just temped-up a wire from the fuel gauge light to the positive terminal on the head unit, and it all came alive, so I reckon I've got a problem with lack of amps on the SPX feed, which is maybe why that's not working.

Fingers crossed a temp cable to the SPX will bring everything back online.

Found it. Behind the switch panel, there is a 12v relay for the autopilot. The power output terminal was corroded to buggery. A good clean-up and it's all running again, including the SPX.
