Urgent help needed with registration

Dear All

I have recently bought a boat in Spain that is IVA paid (including matriculation) and want to take the boat to France and have it registered.

My problem is that I can get the cancellation of the leasing but the spanish registry tell me it will take..........wait for it.................3 MONTHS (!!!) to get the registration cancelled so I can't use it until then (legally). I cannot understand how it can take 3 months to raise a certificate??? WTF???!!!!

Has anyone else been through this? If so any help on speeding them up would be useful.

Does not surprise me. It took 6 weeks and 800 Euros to transfer registration on the boat I bought in Greece.

Their way of helping keep their unemployment figures down.

Sorry, can't help in ways to reduce the time but no doubt there will be - at a price.

I cannot understand how it can take 3 months to raise a certificate??? WTF???!!!!

Well, firstly the guy doing it can't read or write or use a computer, but his uncle is the mayor. Secondly, its the summer, so he only works part time. Thirdly, every other day is a fiesta day, so he currently is on holiday. Fourthly, in the unlikely event it is a work day, he wil be having a siesta - come back tomorrow and queue up again.
