Urgent computer help needed

Discovering that it is a fake and just a scam to extract money from the unwary has taken away the urgency to do anything about it.

If ignored it just sleeps on the desk-top under the active window and it can be sent packing, until the next re-start, by closing it from task manager .

How do you know it aint talking to Mama with copies of your key strokes? Be careful!

I have to confess we've seen this a few times at work. Seems that McAfee had difficulties preventing root kit installations. The problem isn't the OS, but my opinion is to recommend against McAfee as an AV solution. There are a couple of good free ones, including AVG.
