Will an Alphaline DC31 fit in the battery box of a Moody 31? The lengthh, width and height are 330 x 172 x 242 mm.

My own measurements make it too close to call, and I am 400 miles from the boat! The length and width are fine - not close - but I measured the battery box height as 9.5" (241.3 mm). That measurement is probably only good to at best 1/10". The DC31 is 242mm high - which if my measurement is correct won't quite fit. But as I say, I could easily be off be a couple of millimetres, and would certainly have measured on the conservative side.

Can anyone let me know if it will fit, before I take a chance and order it anyway?

Clarification - the length, width and height figures are for the DC31 battery.

Update - I have asked the marina to measure the box for me, which they promise to do by this afternoon. However, if someone has used this combination, I'd appreciate their input!

On my M31 Mk1 I found the 242mm height batteries were fractionally too high.I was going to have the Numax Marine Sealed 113a/h double post batteries but I had the same single post batteries which are 220mm high. They have been excellent so far (6 seasons).
Tayna are doing a good price now.

Any idea how much too high? If it's only a millimetre or so - my own measurements suggest it would eb less than a mm - then I could perhaps "win" than much by putting a bit of a spacer for the lid of the container. Mine's a Mk II, but I guess it may well be the same moulding for the boxes. My motivation is to get a higher capacity battery - the existing one is 110 Ah, and there's no real problem duplicating that. The DC31 is 125 Ah.

Thanks - I measured mine at 355 x 190 x 240 - but I actually measured in inches and then converted to mm. The height I actually measured - hopefully conservatively - was 9.5" (241.3 mm), which makes it slightly higher than yours, though you too may well have measured conservatively.

Trouble is that measuring accurately with a battery in place isn't easy, and when it's down to a millimetre or less, it's a bit of a gamble!
