Have sailed and motored on the South Coast for a number of years and now contemplating putting a merry Fisher 805 or 925 somewhere on the Thames not too far from West London where I live. Chiswick Quay marina seems quite close to me with good access to upper and tidal Thames. Any thoughts on moorings would be appreciated.

With a locking window of only plus or minus 2 hours I am not sure if this would really be "good access" .. but it depends what sort of cruising you want to do.

A bit further out, but I can put you in touch with someone at Greenwich Yacht Club

All tide access moorings are quite difficult to come by, but a very large mooring has been built at Imperial Wharf just by Chelsea Harbour. It's called Imperial Wharf Marina and is rather expensive hence there being very few boats tied up there at the moment.

Moorings

Petie, the Hurlingham Yacht Club in Putney has moorings, for members, the club is open
on Thursday nights after 8pm. Come along and see us any Thursday. You may enjoy it.
The address is 43a Deodar Road Putney SW15 2NP.

Teddington Harbour.

Just downstream of Teddington Lock , secure pontoon moorings with water and electric accessable at all states of the tide.

Upper/tidal Thames

Many thanks for responses. Chiswick Quay has waiting list anyway but Teddington Harbour sounds favourite. Must now buy Boat.
