Now have electricity below decks! Well, 12V at least. Moored the boat at a Lechlade pub and had steak and chips to celebrate. Then went upstream of the Roundhouse for a gentle cruise. Had a thought that some of you may not have seen the Thames so far up. It looks like it does elsewhere - only narrower...

Here's a few pictures:

Further up

I went a bit further still but it becomes very narrow and both hands are needed to drive the boat. And I still managed to snap my flag off on a low tree branch.

Coming back noticed a bull. Not as gigantic as the one regularly seen before but pretty big. Complete with a shiny ring through his nose.

So nice that's it's finally stopped raining. Today I have a watchmark :-)

It's fabulously pretty up that way. Years since I've been that far up by boat. Must hire one for a week or so and show SWMBO life the other side of Osney.

If you were around here and fancied a day trip you'd be welcome aboard Moxon. It would be nice to an have enthusiastic passenger / lock assistant. Rather than the usual, press-ganged Mrs Moxon...

Great pics... my little freeman is definitely coming up that way, sometime soon. :-)

Even with my dear old Freeman (which is looking as good as new with current owners for many years) it was a hood down job under Osney. Great memories.
Typicaly unimaginative foresight not to build a swing bridge at Osney in my opinion. Others may, I know, see it as an advantage.
