I know this was covered a few years ago but I understand a number of firms have ceased trading. Need to replace all the berth cushions in a 37ft sailing yacht. Can any one suggest which firms are worthy of approach within a reasonable distance of Ipswich? Thanks in advance.

Same Jeckells who are the sprayhood side of the business? Then worth saying I had a nightmare experience with them, sprayhood made that covered the Eber outlet - eventually another company had to come and fix it. But if it's the sailmaking side of the business then I've only heard good things about them.

Titchmarsh Marina have a helpful lady in the chandlery who makes covers and complete cushions and her prices are very competitive. Also lots of good reviews for http://www.foamforcomfort.co.uk/ffc/fitted-covers/?gclid=CKqgx_n9h9ACFZEy0wodxdQDsw instant quote online.
 
They did our mattress for us and we were pleased with both the work and the price. When we need our upholstery re-done I will get them to quote for that too. From memory the son has already joined the business so I expect them to keep going for at least another generation.

I forgot to put the statutory disclaimer on my last post that we have no connection to them other than they were recommended to us, we used them, and now I'm recommending them to you.
 
There's a lady who does upholstery based at the chandlers at Titchmarsh. She advertises mattress covers etc., and there are samples of more elaborate embroidery/patchwork cushion covers in the shop. No idea what she charges, and no experience of her work, but she might be worth checking out!

Had my Ipswich based Sadler totally re upholstered by Windale furnishings in Skegness last year. Normally do caravans and far cheaper than marine based. Used foam I specified and had water resistant based fabric. Definitely worth a phone call and highly recommended. Stephen

Sundowner left a card on the club board, they used a Co from up Leicester way who came took patterns & fitted the cushions. I have Howards email if you need it. At the Mo they are in Cape Verde``s
 
Bernie of RitzyStitches (?) did a great job on ours - previously of this forum too. Don't know if she's still in the business...
 
Not having read this tread by co-incidence got chatting to the lady at the Chandlery at Titchmarsh yesterday - I had seen her there working on her machine a couple of weeks ago and wanted to know the sort of work she does. She emphasized all soft materials but not PVC etc so cushions/curtains etc. Does seem very friendly and approachable.

Well, PVC/hard materials are the last thing I'd want for the mattress covers; too sweaty and "hard".

Same for me I had my Centaur done in 2008 with a nice blue water resistant 'suedette'.

No signs of disgruntlement from me.
