Wow Marine trimming has got to be a good business to be in.
I want to replace the flybridge cushions on my Fairline 36, they are all loose cushions so can be taken to the trimmers.
So far I have tried three different places the first in Windsor marina cant do them till March the second will need 14 weeks to turn them round and the third hasn't got the time to quote at the moment.
Anybody recommend someone who can turn them around in a reasonable period. I can take the cushions off and deliver them. Preferably non tidal Thames area.

Why does it need to be a 'marine' upholsterer? Just buy the fabric and then any upholsterer can do the needle work.

There was someone at the boat show offering an upholstery course for a day at £120 - maybe do it yourself

Things with needles no, things with spanners mostly. Not just the material also need the special waterproof thread industrial sewing machine ect ect. Take a rain check I think on that idea

I think you'll find most commercial upholsterers have industrial sewing machines and they can buy waterproof thread.

But since you've bought into needin it to be marine best you wait a few months

Dave, I can send you the details of where I got ours done. But, as you saw, they're not a great match and it's a bit of a trek for you. Would be a shame not to get a very close match for yours, given the condition of your boat, but please shout if you want the details.

I was commenting on your suggestion that I DIY it

Oh no I wasn't really suggesting that, just saw the course advertised at sibs. I was really just suggesting a non marine commercial upholster could do it, giving you more options. I've done it before where I have supplied the marine spec materials and they have made the covers. Usually saves a few quid as well

Thanks Chris will call if I dont find anything closer
