Upgrading the ETAP28

Thank you all for your advice to date on our planned trip to the Med. Having listened to a lot of people I am worried that life will be a bit cramped on a 28ft boat for a couple and a child. I have come across a Oceanis 331 that seems to fit most of the requirements. I just wanted to ask for peoples advice regarding living aboard and sailing a light displacment hull? At least the 331 is fairly new - the other option is to go for an older boat (something like the Moody 346). Any advice or comments greatly appreciated. While space and newness is nice I would not want to compromise on safety in anyway. Having said that we plan on looking at the weather forecasts whenever possible and will try to miss the nasty stuff.

The pro's and con's of a lightweight modern production-line boat versus a heavyweight blue water yacht as a liveaboard in the Med were discussed earlier this week <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=ym&Number=612572>HERE</A>. The consensus is the lightweight will be fine for mostly coastal cruising in reasonable weather.
