Upgrading from small RIB

Hi all, just thought I'd wrap this thread up - we ended up buying a Fletcher 19 sports cruiser. Absolutely mint condition, and way more than our original budget!!

Thanks for your input on here, will no doubt be spamming other threads with questions from now on!

Great news, sterndrive or outboard?

No pics of my own, but we are collecting it this weekend so will no doubt bang a few pics here.

It's a 2009 19 GTS with a 4.3l MPI sterndrive. Looked at a carbed version too but this one was in better condition all round.

4.3 MPI is around 190 HP and as fuel injected its a significantly better engine - 40 knots plus!!!

Send photos please....

Yes, it's supposedly 220hp but we'll see...! I'll post the photo's from the seller, but no doubt will put more up once we've put our finishing touches to her!

I had a Fletcher 19 sports cruiser with an outboard.

Brilliant boat and good seakeeping.

Avoid sterndrive versions, the 130hp mercruiser is heavy. Rated up to 135hp with an outboard.

Rare find (probably 1 in 10) but worth waiting for. Its the more modern version of the 18 you are looking at.

Oh yes, towing! I could tow the Fletcher 19 with a braked single axle trailer with a mondeo. The Sterndrive version requires a twin axle trailer and a bigger tow car - costs to be factored in.

As previously mentioned Dennis (bigplumbs) is your man to discuss with.....

Totally agree with Nick. The Fletcher 19 sports cruiser is a lovely boat and the outboard version is the best choice. Any inboard engined boat with out drive can be very costly to maintain and is much heavier than outboard versions.

if you do buy a SC19 check out the transom as they will rot and with the paint Fletcher used it is very difficult to see.

The SC19 is a boat which is quite high above the waterline so not easy to get on and off if beached etc.
