I have 2x c90w mfd,s dcm300,b744 transducer and a raymarine vhf with an extn. upstairs ,none functioning .
Thinking about a 9 inch (must have buttons and touch) downstairs. Pos. B&G . Can I keep c90w upstairs as little used , new vhf and what about transducers etc. Need nav. & depth, don't fish but maybe. Help needed!

Would not touch B&G with a bargepole.

You said "none functioning" but want to keep 1 C90W ?

A little more information about exactly what you have, what does and doesn't work and what you want to end up with would help.

This is where I feel justified in being a spelling and grammer nazi. You misspell words and the meaning changes, such that it becomes unintelligible or something else entirely.

I suspect the OP meant "non-functioning" referring to the VHF extension. I often see people unable to spell the three letter word 'non' for some reason.

As I was typing on a mobile which I find hard to do ,having fingers that are somewhat larger than the 'key board' I apologise for my lack of perceived understanding. There are 2 c90w mfd's conn. to a raymarine vhf with a skt. upstairs for an additional handset. This skt is not working. A DCM30 connects to a b744 transducer.
I would like an updated 9 inch mfd downstairs, which must not be touch only. I'd be quite happy to keep the c90w upstairs as it get little use if it can be compatible to a new device downstairs. VHF, poss update as well with station upstairs. Nav and depth required. What's wrong with B&G ? Hope that's a little clearer!

Except if meant that none of the items ie all are not functioning. Poor grammar still but then makes sense.

Whats wrong with B&G ? Probably nothing - but it is PRICEY !! I have B&G Network instruments - old but mostly working .... I thought of replacing - till I saw prices !! EG : Masthead wind unit .. over $1000 new .... over $500 2nd hand. You can buy a complete NASA display / head unit - all wireless for that. I know its not the plotter etc that OP is talking about - but illustrates B&G costs !

I would fit a Garmin plotter, or Raymarine. In terms of compatibility with the existing C series, there is no difference, as nothing will integrate with it, other than it might send depth data over Seatalk or NMEA 0183. But most new plotters do not support 0183 or Seatalk, you could fit a Seatalk to Seatalk NG converter and connect the the new plotter with a NMEA 2000 network. If the only thing you'll get from the C series is depth, you'd probably be better off just fitting in a new, in hull, transducer.

B&G are pricey, their user interface and menus are terrible and their support is not great. Best company for support, in my experience, is Garmin, Raymarine are getting better.
