so ....who does these days? Just spent about 8 hrs spread over several days doing mine -hard slog for just one year of corrections on charts from sufolk to devon.
Then theres the almanac!!!

well cookie boy I totally agree with you, what a pain.I have about 130 charts to update and I do it 4 times a year.
As I am the only one to use the charts,I tend to leave out (what I consider to be) unneccessary bits, like depths changed from 12m to 11.8 ect. I find it most important to correct major navigational changes as I have been caught out a couple of times. I have recently bought the latest edition of the East coast folio and found I had 20 odd pages ofcorrections. I dont bother to correct our local chart as the grey funnel line issues a new one every year

I tend to replace my Admiralty Foio charts every two years and make important corrections to the regularly used sets as they come up. The charts for the French coast, CI and SW England are thoroughly corrected (with relevant information) before a trip. I do this when preparing my outline passage plan and find that it helps me familiarize myself with the cruising area. The electronic charts are left to Navionics gizmology to sort out.
