Hi All, just been updating some charts and there are a couple of wrecks now marked for the solent , 1 off peel bank buoy , near wootton creek and 1 off north head , just past hurst castle, that are worth knowing about.

So go get your updates guys, for those new to updating, go onto your charts makers web site and look for updates and then put in the chart number etc. they should be applied with a magenta (purple) pen to the charts. a written record of what is done should also be put on the bottom of the chart or keep the update print out with the charts.

and while I am on one of my kick all posts, who has practised there MOB recently or checked Fire extinguishers are in date.

Thats all for mo.. xx

I'm leaving it for another couple of months before I update all my charts, otherwise I'll only have to go through them all again :).

Fitted all new fire extinguishers last weekend though :encouragement:. Now a total of 10 litres of AFF spread around the boat, plus the auto halon-substitute in the engine bay.

Pete

Why only magenta?

The magenta pen wipes off my plotter. Can't be bothered updating the paper stuff. I have practiced the MOB though and had all 9 fire extinguishers serviced. And the 14 lifejackets. And the rafts are both in date........

Do I get extra points for replacing all my handheld fire extinguishers _and_ removing the engine fire system and having it tested and recertified by the manufacturer? :D

Not seen up 2 date chart (on the boat) but my 2011 (Garmin tablet) version shows Peel Bank red can & a wrek nearby. So any idea if the update is showing a new (as in recent) wreck, or an old wreck that's moved to a new location or just missed off perhaps in error??

I don't know, there was one around there that was a position approximate at one time, so it may be that one. but I am just guessing on that.
