Hi folks
Here we are in La Coruna after a really great sail across the bay of Biscay in perfect conditions. Rounded Ushant under motor with a Northerly 2 but by the time we were halfway across the bay it had veered and built to Easterly 6 and we were stonking along at up to 9 knots with everything but the royals set. Several sightings of dolphins including a night visit lit by phosphorecence and a couple of small pods of minke whales.
We have two days in port before heading down the coast of Spain and Portugal.
Everyone on the crew is enjoying the sailing, none more so than our young disabled lads, Roland and Chris who have grins from ear to ear all the time. Chris came along with us to a great seafood restaurant last night and enjoyed the squid and octopus. Roland went off with the young sea cadets on his watch who were determined to drink the port dry. They obviously looked after him well as he was bright-eyed and bushy tailed at breakfast this morning unlike the rest of the lads who didn´t surface till mid morning!
More news as we head on south into the sunshine.
This is so much better than watching the British winter setting in, I´ve really got to work on persuading swmbo to head off again!
