I am about to send off my CmapNT+ cartridge to be updated (it's 6 yo and the TSS and some important bouyage has changed in that time). However will I lose the 100+ waypoints I have entered?

I suppose this depends on where waypoints are actually stored in a plotter - on the chip or in the plotter?

Regards

C-Map charts don't store waypoints/routes etc. Only the chart data.

Fox's def do it while you wait, had mine done last week. Took 15 mins.

You will lose waypoints if you do a software update on the plotter (with Standard Horizon anyway) unless you can back them up to another user card.

Why do you say don't worry about the roundabout, that was in fact my main concern as quite a lot of bouys changed when it was introduced and although I have printed out and stuck a patch on my hard copy chart I really thought that the platter should be up to date before attempting Ostend and Holland.

But if it really means losing many hours of work putting in and naming waypoints I may ahve second thoughts.
