I've not seen anything like that before.
Yes, very interesting main engine exhausts, similar to mine, but mine arent as far in the water.

I was going to ask the very same question, also assumed they must be exhausts. Just wonder why they were not angled back to give less drag.
Very nice job, love the trailer. Where do you store it when not in use? Is it practical for others to use when you're in the water?

Sorry about being tardy, I've been down the boat, the weather has been summerlike 19.4 degrees according to the met office this afternoon.

The exhausts are as designed, lots of Weymouths and Nelsons had them this way, having said that, if you look carefully at the transom, the plug had holes in it for stern exhaust ports which were glassed in after the mould was struck. the only reason for this set up as far as I can ascertain from other owners, is that this was done for two reasons, first the cost of extra exhaust pipework, and second because of sooting the stern of the boat, with side exhausts this just doesn't happen.

The trailer is a "one off" specifically designed from the boats line drawings, that's why she sits on it level, the main spine of the trailer carries the keel which has a 1 ft down hill run over 23 ft of length, I dare say it could accommodate other boats, but would probably need timber packers, but being a selfish bar-steward it never occurred to me to try and make it a "fit all" unit. when faced with the reality that this is going to be my last boat, I very much doubt if I'll buy another, unless a rich old Aunt doesn't dodge her coffin and leaves me a stipend, but the problem with that theory is I'm a bloody pensioner myself

Hopefully she'll be in on the next lot of springs Martin, around the 23rd of the month. I'm using the current balmy weather to get paint and varnishing done, well at least I'm kidding myself it needs to be done while the weathers good, guaranteed recipe for it to change,the upside, if you can call it that, is I'm working close to the water and keeping an eye on all you lucky so'nso's out on that flat sunshine drenched Solent.

Don't worry David, being a man who is no longer committed to the daily grind of 9 - 5 work, I dare say you will have the opportunity during the upcoming summer months to sneak out during the weekdays, when weather is mostly at it's best

Some Varnish and Shine
Stripped the teak spray rail, using a Bacho scrapper, whilst on the face of it they seem expensive, they do what it says on the tin, as they say.
Excellent tool, takes just the old varnish/paint and doesn't muller the timber very impressed with it, and the usual bollox, nothing to do with the firm that makes them etc.etc.
Three coats of Epifanes Gloss with at least another two to go, plus a mop and polish stb topsides.

Hello fella.
You are right about Bahco scrapers.
Five coats of epifanes is not enough, you'll be scraping back to bare wood each year, you need a minimum of 8 coats applied neat, plus a de-nib and 5 more coats every spring.
Get some blue masking tape, proper 3M, the Wickes stuff is rubbish, buy online from 3M Select, do a neat coat everyday for five days, no sanding in between on top of where you are now.
I've been using it on Playtime for 10 years.

today it was 2pm before the sun decided to show and a coat was put on before 3pm the same again tomorrow I hope, but the weather looks to break on Saturday, rain forecast according to the Met Office.
