Plans being drawn up to celebrate the launching of the PS Medway Queen which as many will know rescued troops from the beaches of Dunkerque.
Proposals for military march past and no doubt the attendance of a few of the great and good.
A chance for visitors to inspect the resoration of the paddle steamer and craft from the ADLC have been invited to attend.

If you have a boat in the area or are visiting on April 27th there might possibly be flypast including a Seafire.

I'm sure it was on the slip at Ramsgate a year or two back but no mention or photographs, was I mistaken?

Do believe they persuaded a local tug company to tow it gratis round there to get it slipped and the bottom painted/ surveyed. ?

Thanks for that update. I'd love to get along there in April.
My Old Man was on the Medway Queen - he got out on her last sailing out of Dunkirk and said it saved his bacon. He was getting very fed up with being strafed on the beach by German aircraft.

Our club hope to provide overnight moorings and refreshments for any Little Ships that may care to venture round .
We also plan to attend the Dunkerque evacuation commemorations next year.
Leaving Ramsgate in 2015 . Flypast .

Barge Greta departing .
A lone piper up there somewhere in the crowd on the harbour arm

Passing little ships mid channel.

You sure thats Ramsgate ?......its not blowing a gale !
Nice pix by the way.

Medway Queen. 1977 ?
Abandoned up a creek in the IOW, it was used as a night club.

Not sure what sailing vessel is behind, with three masts, can just see the bowsprit .

I remember going to parties as a child on board when the whole class descend onboard by way of invite from owners son - I was too young for the nightclub though but great place to host a party on board your dads paddle steamer.
