Since the met office seem (imho anyway) not to be getting the forecasting as accurate as I would like, does anyone use any other method? Studying a cat’s bum seems to be a viable alternative (see here - then click on i for information then alternative meteorology), and I quote, “Sailors in particular used to watch out for this sort of thing and were wary when the ship's cat "had a gale of wind in her tail." A statement with which I cannot but agree.

What offers from pets, rhymes, seaweed etc etc ? What’s your favourite and preferably, accurate weather prediction method?

Seaweed taped to mast.

If it's dry, the weather's dry.

If it's wet, it's raining.

If you can't see it, It's foggy.

If it's white, it's snowing.

And if it's no longer there, it's bl**dy windy.

I just came across this in some photos I took when we were last in South Africa.
