Unusual AIS message ...

there's a 1,000 tonne general cargo ship trundling southwards down the M6 doing over 100 knots just south of Manchester. If anybody's about, could they tell the captain that there are restrictions on who can be on a motorway ....

I'd report it to Air Traffic Control, because its almost impossible to achieve 100kts around that area of the M6...... Perhaps this is the latest in budget airlines??

But I, too, am mystified at the fact that he is moving through the traffic so quickly - perhaps he's just driving over everything else?

i occasionally see spurious AIS targets doing 102.3 knots due North for some reason.Allways exactly the same speed and 360°heading.
