I have an unused Seacock. Can I blank it out or remove the skin fitting and glass over?

Or am I best to just service it, wire the handle closed and put a good bung in it?

I'd do the latter, sea cocks are like switches on a switch panel, one day you'l wish you had another one (watermaker, seawater tap perhaps).

I have an unused Blake's seacock and I just locked it shut by tightening the retaining plate so it can't be turned.

Glass it over - see the epistle according to West Systems for suggestions.

Best to do it with the boat out of the water though! You might find things get a bit exciting and not end the way you might have hoped otherwise.
