I have noticed a thread or two on here about what have been peoples best / most useful bits of kit. I am just wondering if there has been one about what things have not lived up to expectations. Luckily, Most boaty things seem to work quite well and have a decent service life but I have had some exceptions and, just to the ball rolling (if, indeed, it does need a push), here are a couple that have annoyed me:-
Whale Tiptoe water pump - seal failed twice in 18 months - dumps water in bilge and replacement seals are only available in an expensive kit (with lots of bits you don't need).
Rule 140, 3inch Blower - lasted just over 12 months not heavy use - motor had it, unservicable.
(Moving around a lot we have yet to be in same country as where the things were bought - makes taking them back tricky!)
