I have used 1 coat of Micron Extra for many years and keep the boat in the water for 7 or 8 months each season. The performance is fine with only a thick build up of slime. Does anyone know how the performance of Uno would compare? I presume that the cost would be lower.

I guess it depends on where you are. I had heard good things about Uno in northern Europe. Therefore I tried it one season in the Med but although I did a lot of sailing, the hull was very slimy after only 6 months. Micron is surely much better but very, very expensive. I now have a local Turkish anti-foul applied last year in March and the hull still looks clean even after 3 months of lying still in warm Med water.

keep my boat west coast at Tignabruaich. Have used Uno for last two seasons. Started with two coats as a base then one coat last winter. Both times it came out with only slime and needed a good pressure wash only.

Second season needed no prep just paint it on. The 3 litre tin does my 35' long keeler from one tin for circa £65. I've already bought this years tin and i'm a fan

I guess the northern water theory must be true /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I switched to TeaMac erodible, which is significantly cheaper, and I found to be more effective than micron. However, it goes on thicker, so you do need a bit more.
