hi-i am trying to track down a tool i have seen before but do not know the name of-it consists of a lot of plastic sliders on a rail, which are free to move up and down, perpendicular to the rail itself. the rail can be pushed against curved surfaces, so that these sliders move and create a perfect image of the curve, which can then be marked out on and cut from a new piece of wood, so that the new wood fits snugly against the original curved surface. hey presto!! saves huge amounts of time measuring exactly curved surfaces.
i have googled and searched woodworking tools but cant find it anywhere. anyone know what this thing is called, or where i can get one? many thanks.
