Unknown Fletcher

Hi everyone

I recently purchased a (about) 14 foot fletcher speedboat. But it's of unknown origin and I would like to narrow down the model and production year for insurance reasons. The boat has no serial number or anything, it has an 80 hp mercury on the back from the 80's. I hope some of you guys might be fletcher experts and could potentially help me narrow down the search. That looks to me to be A Fletcher Arrowflyte GTO 14 Ft around about 1986 - 1990 ish. Although it looks to have been done up quite a bit. The motor on it is very big at 80hp. Normally a 60 hp will make those fly.

I am not sure but I suspect 80hp may well be over the spec of that boat.

Lovely little boat in its day and still is today a lovely Fletcher Classic and that one looks particularly nice from the single picture

She is an arrowflyte 140. Hard to tell exact age without original gel and decals...but she will be one of the earlier models..most likely around early 80's...possibly even late 70's at a push. Those particular ones at that age were rated to 65hp as far as I know then later models were 60.

The Mercury 80hp I think was normally fitted to the 16ft Fletcher (161) which used to go really well! I would be cautious having that power/weight out of spec on the 14ft model. I remember seeing the 80hp engine being fitted in the late 1980's and early 90's to Fletchers.
