Hello All
In May 2020 the annual UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge will take place
in the Solent. This is a 3-4 day charity regatta open to all "blue
light" services. I have the priviledge of being invited by one of the
London Ambulance Service entries. This year they have entered a 5th boat
under the LAS banner.
Unfortunately the proposed skipper's qualifications don't meet with the
charter boat insurers criteria. I was wondering if there is anyone on
the forum who would be intersted in taking on the skipper's duties for this worthwhile cause.
RYA Day Skipper with some miles under the keel seems to be sufficient and some racing experience.
Association with the emergency services is not a requirement.
Organisation would be at a minimum as our crew boss is very experienced at putting it all together and will do the co-ordination for both boats.
If anyone would like more info then please PM me and I'll happily
provide details for this really fun event. (sailing during the day, food
and beer in the evening - what's not to like?!?!)
