This month, ie March, PBO p42 Toughened up trousers. They are recommending a pair of work trousers which cost £72.90 RRP and then in addition the cost of the suitable knee pads is £18.58, making a grand total of £ 91.48. I have in recent years brought mine in Aldi £19.99 plus knee pads £3.99 totalling £23.98. These fit fine, the same as any other trousers, are hard wearing and are way less than half price.

The question is am I being unfair to my lower half, or simply cushioning my wallet?

I have always fallen in the trouser department :p  Toughness is key and I've done the £80 a pair ones and the Toolstation specials. In the end whilst employed in a job, I was given 3 pairs of CONDOR KNEEPAD TROUSERS. Just over 2 and a half years and they're all still good albeit covered in antifoul and burn marks where I've wiped the soldering iron.

Also have the hi vis bands which I have to have when working on the port and Felixstowe dock.

+1 for the aldi or Lidl workwear trousers, as good as snickers etc and cheap, they also do short cargo trousers as well

I bought Castle trousers (which are generous fit) and very hardwearing for about £20, knee pads £4... PBO prices are laughable

But I doubt Lidl or Aldi send their trousers to PBO for review or testing. It’s good to see the forum filling in the gaps.

Is it any wonder that the big retailers are suffering just now when we have Aldi, Lidl, B&M, Home Bargains, Toolstation etc. The hundreds of millions that some retailers were making in profit are luckily a distant memory. Long may it last.
