Quick Q - can it be used above the waterline?

I'd have less cans and less cash outlay if I can use it all over the hull, as a prep for International Toplac or equivalent, above the waterline.

At the risk of stating the obvious, why not read the tech info from the manufacturer?

The Op has not said exactly what this "underwater primer is but the data sheet will almost ceratinly describe it simply as primer for use on the underwater areas and very likely as a primer or barrier coat for antifouling.

The Data sheet for Toplac refers to the use of various primers for different substrates http://www.yachtpaint.com/MPYACMDatasheets/Toplac+eng+A4+Y+20100921.pdf

Painting the top sides with Toplac is not a job to be taken lightly. It would be foolish IMHO to risk using an unsuitable primer.l

Message understood.

I did look at datasheets, but they tell you what the product is for; they are silent on the question I asked. Thanks for all responses.

Indeed, but didn't International change their 'Underwater primer' to be called 'Universal primer' or am I mistaken?
